Patient Case Study – Fixing a Tilted, Asymmetrical Smile
Janica's teeth and smile were tilted to her left, and her dental midline was no longer parallel with her facial midline. From certain angles, the asymmetry gave her smile a "shark tooth" appearance. She wanted a smile that was symmetrical, aligned with her facial midline, and brighter overall.
Janica was missing two teeth on her upper left side, and her remaining teeth had tilted to the left over time. This created a midline misalignment between her teeth and her face, along with bite and jaw discomfort. On the right side, teeth protruded more than the left, giving an uneven "shark tooth" appearance, and general staining and discoloration added to the uneven look of her smile.

To correct the tilt, close the gaps, and restore facial symmetry, we planned 12 upper porcelain veneers along with an implant crown to replace her missing tooth. Treating all 13 visible teeth together — rather than just a few — allowed us to fully reshape the smile, align it with her facial midline, and maintain a healthy, functional bite.
Janica wanted a smile that looked natural, symmetrical, and fully healed — not just straighter.
To achieve this, we focused on:

Janica's smile is now symmetrical, aligned with her facial midline, and free of the "shark tooth" look that bothered her.
She had tried Invisalign before without achieving the result she wanted — with veneers, she got the smile she'd always envisioned in just three weeks.
